If I had to summarize what I have learned from my haphazard path through philosophy, physics and neuroscience, I would put it this way:
We need to remember that things have no meaning of their own. All the time, we find ways to reduce our uncertainty about what is out there, which is what I call computation. Which is to say that nothing makes sense, but we make sense of things. That process is intelligence and that is why the world is only a statistical construction.
